Please join RCC as we support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of Darkness walk on UW Madison’s campus. Together we walk in honor of loved ones, community members, and survivors who’ve navigated suicide ideation or survivorship. Don’t forget to stop by our table to say hello to our incredible team of UW Advocates! Registration opens 9am.

An Evening with Amanda Nguyen
Wisconsin Union Directorate Distinguished Lecture Series hosts activist and entrepreneur Amanda Nguyen on Monday, April 7th, 2025, from 7:30pm-9pm for a FREE campus and community lecture. The event will consist of a 1-hour lecture and 30-minute Q&A. The event, titled "An Evening with Amanda Nguyen", will take place in Shannon Hall, Memorial Union. No tickets required!
Amanda Nguyen is the CEO and founder of Rise, a social movement accelerator. She is a 2019 Nobel Peace Prize nominee and star of the Emmy-nominated documentary Rise Above. She penned her own civil rights into existence and unanimously passed the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights, after having to navigate the broken criminal justice system after her own rape. Thirty laws protecting more than 82 million sexual violence survivors have been created modeled off of her federal law. The federal law was the 21st bill in modern US history to pass unanimously on the record.
